Mishloah Manot Program

As our community continues to grow and come together, we look forward to sharing the Mitzvot of Purim with you. Please consider participating with our community in celebrating the Mitzvah of Mishoah Manot.

Did you know that there are four mitzvot associated with Purim:

  1. Listen to the reading of the Megillah:
Thursday, March 13th at 6:30 pm
Thursday, March 13th at 8:00 pm
  2. Have a seudah:
A festive meal - after the Megillah Reading
  3. Tzedakah:
Give charity to at least two recipients.
  4. Mishloah Manot:
“Send portions” or Purim gifts to at least two recipients - we can help you with this one!!

Every Beth Am member, Early Childhood Center & Sabra families, teachers and staff will receive a Mishloah Manot gift. The Recipient families will receive one basket with a card indicating all of the senders’ names. **If the gift is not picked up by March 13th, they will be donated.

What is Mishloah Manot?

They are gifts of food or drink that are sent to family, friends and others on Purim day. The mitzvah of giving Mishloah Manot derives from the Book of Esther. It is meant to ensure that everyone has enough food for the Purim feast held later in the day, and to increase love and friendship among Jews and their neighbors.
