Liz Earne

A Southern California native, Liz Earne moved to San Diego and joined the Beth Am community in 2006 with her husband, Rabbi Matthew Earne. She graduated with dual BAs from Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, and she holds California teaching and administrative credentials as well as a Masters in Educational Leadership from CSU Northridge. She worked most of her career in K-12 independent school education, until 2020 when she pivoted to corporate learning and development. She now works at Intuit where she leads a team that offers certification programs to job seekers and Intuit employees. During COVID, Liz taught herself to play the piano and boogie board. When she has a free moment, she is usually riding her Peloton or trying out a new plant-based recipe. She is the proud mom of Jonah, 14, Gabbi, 12, and two rescue dogs, Daisy and Nala.

Debbie Kornberg

Debbie is an educator at heart. Holding a master’s degree in Jewish education from the Jewish Theological Seminary, she spent the first 20 years working for Jewish organizations including the San Diego Jewish Academy and Jewish Federation of San Diego County. Since 2014, Debbie made a career change and launched her own spice company, SPICE + LEAF. Still passionate about educating people, Debbie teaches people how to cook with spices, in easy-to-follow recipes, to create more flavorful food through her Spice It Up with Deb cooking classes. For the last five years, Debbie is a monthly contributor on Fox 5 San Diego Morning News and has collaborated with Fortune 500 Companies, and non-profit organizations alike across the United States.
