The Women's Circle Walking Group of Congregation Beth Am invites you to make a difference in our community by volunteering at the San Diego Food Bank. We have reserved 10 spaces for our group to help out on March 18 from 9 am to 12 pm.
Why Volunteer?
- Give Back: Help eliminate hunger in our community.
- Connect: Spend quality time with fellow group members.
- Make an Impact: Your efforts will directly support those in need.
What You'll Do: Volunteers primarily work at the Food Bank’s warehouse, completing a variety of essential tasks, most of which involve inspecting, sorting, and packing food for distribution. On average, volunteers inspect and sort 30,000 pounds of food per week that the Food Bank receives from food drives and other sources. This includes checking expiration dates, quality, damage to packaging, and sorting the food into categories for bagging.
